Culture Minister reviews latest preparations of 3rd round of AIWFF

 

Culture Minister Dr. Inas Abdel Daim received on Sunday evening a delegation of Aswan International Women Film Festival to discuss the latest preparations concerning the third round of the festival slated to be held on February 20-26.

The delegation included head of the festival's board of trustees ambassador Mervat Talawi, president of the festival Mohamed Abdel Khalek, manager of the festival Hassan Aboul Ella.

The minister asserted the ministry's keenness on working to make the festival successful especially that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi named Aswan as the capital of African culture in 2019.

The minister also noted that all departments of the ministry will provide the required support to the festival to make it successful.

The delegation thanked the minister over her support to cultural activities especially cinematic ones.

The delegation also reviewed preparations of the opening that will be attended by the minister and other domestic and international figures, noting that a number of important filmmakers and women activists will also attend the upcoming round.

Earlier, AIWFF announced honoring actresses Mohsena Tawfik and Menna Shalaby in the opening while honoring titles designer Nawal, editor Laila Fahmy and translators and daughters of Anis Ebeid; Aida, Azza and Abla in the closing ceremony of the third round of the festival.

The festival is held under the auspicious of Culture and Tourism ministries and supported by the National Council for Women and the Cinema Professions syndicate.
